The 16-time World Champion transitioned to becoming a full-time Hollywood actor, somewhere around 2016. Since then he has gone to work in movies like Blockers and Bumblebee. In 2021, he made his debut in the ninth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast 9. Cena was cast as the main antagonist, Jakob Toretto, the estranged brother of Dominic Torretto.
However, as the fans know, the Fast and Furious franchise is known to make new additions to its cast with each film. The films have seen stars like Jason Statham, Helen Mirren, Luke Evans, and Nathalie Emmanuel added to the mix, apart from the original cast. John Cena recently picked out two members from his WWE days as a part of the next installments.
Which WWE Rivals Does John Cena Want To See In Fast Films?
The 16-time World Champion recently disclosed in an interview with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz that he would like to see real-life cousins Roman Reigns and The Rock join up with the Fast Family in future films. This could bring three of the biggest WWE superstars and the faces of their respective generations together on one screen.
“Well, Roman kind of had a thing in Hobbs and Shaw. So he’s like loosely connected. So we can get him back and I say Hobbs and Shaw, what’s Hobbs doing these days? The one guy that wanted to see the third one, we can do it on screen. Have the stunt doubles fight and figure it out. I think that works. So, those are two I think are connected to the universe.”
The Rock had been a part of the Fast and Furious Franchise for four films. He made his debut in Fast Five, as the ruthless DSS Agent Luke Hobbs. However, a reported ugly altercation between himself and movie lead and Producer Vin Diesel led to him exiting the franchise following The Fate of the Furious. As far as Roman Reigns, he made a cameo appearance in the spin-off movie, “Hobbs and Shaw” as The Rock’s cousin Mateo.
