Cody Rhodes has established himself as the face of the global juggernaut, WWE after dethroning Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. The Prodigal Son pinned The Tribal Chief in front of a sold-out crowd in Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 7th, 2023 in the main event of the Showcase of Immortals.
While The American Nightmare has been on an all-time high since that night, there was an interesting insight he revealed after the title win that dates back to his past gimmick, where he referred to himself as “Dashing” Cody Rhodes.

Before Cody Rhodes donned the popular gimmick of The American Nightmare, he originally debuted as a second-generation superstar who aligned himself with Randy Orton to form The Legacy. Following the start of his singles run after that, he completely reinvented himself developing the person of the most handsome WWE superstar in 2011, calling himself “Dashing” Cody Rhodes.
During an appearance on the Sports Illustrated Podcast, “SI Media with Jimmy Traina”, Cody Rhodes revealed that he still applies the grooming tips that he learned during his portrayal of the Dashing gimmick that was seen in multiple vignettes. Rhodes stated that he learned some very informational aspects of those grooming tips that are very useful to him to this day.
“The vote for the most handsome Superstar was a real vote so that I feel like I let it slide to my head a little bit um but I will say a lot of these things that were new to me like I was talking about prascus I guess that’s the nose and trimming the nose hairs things that were things that were like news to me I actually learned there was informational aspect to those grooming tips that I use till this day now.”
The Prodigal Son has come far ahead since those days on his journey to the top of the mountain. From thriving in multiple gimmicks to now dethroning the most dominating WWE champion of the modern era Roman Reigns, Rhodes has established himself as the epitome of hard work, perseverance, and grit. Cody Rhodes now turns his attention towards his upcoming opponent, Logan Paul against whom he will defend his title at WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
