Mustafa Ali showed the heart of a true warrior at WWE Night of Champions, but his every attack was not enough to keep The Ring General Gunther down. Gunther proved too much for Ali, who in the process fell to the dominant WWE Intercontinental champion in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The underdog challenger went into the match with the Saudi Arabia crowd firmly in his support. However, Gunther would combat Ali’s desire with his brute strength and power, showing his regular in-ring dominance. But that did not keep Mustafa Ali down, who kept coming back for more and more.
Ali even went to connect with the 450-splash, only to end in a near fall. As he came back with the last ounce of his strength, Ali tried to hit another 450-splash only for Gunther to roll out. He followed it up with a dropkick and a devastating Powerbomb to put Ali down and retain his workhorse title, crushing Ali’s dreams.

Mustafa Ali earned the opportunity at Gunther’s WWE Intercontinental title, by winning a battle royal on Monday Night RAW. Moreover in a video on Instagram just days before the event, Ali seemingly dropped a message hinting at his last chance to succeed in WWE.

While he went with perhaps, everything in his high-flying arsenal, Gunther was just too much to conquer for Ali, who once again failed in his quest to become a champion in WWE.
