WWE delivered an amazing Premium Live Event in France with WWE Backlash, which has broken the record for the largest gate of any arena show in WWE history. Being in their prime with business booming, the wrestling juggernaut has embarked on a quest to break all the previous records under the Paul “Triple H” Levesque regime.
Following the success of WWE Backlash France, WWE is gearing up to deliver another major Premium Live Event, this time from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, titled WWE King and Queen Of The Ring. The event is set to take place on May 26 where the promotion will crown their King and Queen for this year.
Let’s look at the 4 possible outcomes that we might see for both the Men’s and Women’s tournaments:
1. Drew McIntyre earns redemption at WWE King and Queen of the Ring
WWE recently revealed the brackets for the participants from Monday Night RAW who will have the golden opportunity to compete to become the King of the Ring. One of the first-round matches will see The Scottish Warrior, Drew McIntyre battle the Judgment Day member, Finn Balor.
Drew McIntyre has been agonized ever since he lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Damian Priest when the latter successfully cashed in his Money In The Bank contract, courtesy of a beatdown that he suffered at the hands of CM Punk. Therefore, Drew can channel that frustration and focus on winning the King of the Ring Tournament which will mark the beginning of the redemption story of the Scottish Warrior.
2. Gunther emerged as the dominant King
Fresh off the heels of his historic WWE Intercontinental Championship run, Gunther is now focused on becoming WWE’s new King of the Ring. The Ring General has earned the heaps of praise from the WWE Universe and his peers for his incredible in-ring skills and presence which will help Gunther to rule WWE as the King.
Gunther is set to collide against his old rival in The Celtic Warrior, Sheamus in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament on Monday Night RAW. Both of the superstars are known for their undeniable chemistry in the ring. Moreover, some would argue Gunther’s best title defense as WWE Intercontinental Champion came against Sheamus last year and now beating Sheamus in the first round will be a big step towards Gunther’s coronation at WWE King and Queen of the Ring.
3. Jade Cargill continues her ascent to the top
Jade Cargill is one of the biggest signings WWE has made in recent memory from the direct competitor, AEW. She was one of the most popular performers in Tony Khan’s company and now finds herself with the biggest wrestling promotion in the entire world, WWE.
The Storm of WWE had a spectacular debut in the Women’s Royal Rumble match followed by a victorious WrestleMania debut. Jade Cargill is enjoying a huge wave of momentum as she has won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Bianca Belair at WWE Backlash France and she can continue her ascent to the top of the women’s division by clinching the title of Queen of the Ring.
4. Liv Morgan earns the crown on her Revenge Tour
Liv Morgan is one of the most popular stars in the WWE Women’s division today. She has already won many accolades in her WWE career, including winning the Women’s Money in the Bank match, the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship, and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice.
Moreover, Liv Morgan is successfully cruising on her Revenge Tour and has already exacted her revenge on her long-time foe, Rhea Ripley after a vicious assault, putting her on the shelf for months, and is now eying on the top prize to win the WWE Women’s World Title. With her sight set on the coveted title and her fame growing by the day, she can add another prestigious accolade to her resume by winning the upcoming Queen of the Ring tournament at Saudi’s PLE, WWE King and Queen of the Ring.
