The Undertaker Likes What He Sees in Current WWE Champion Gunther

The Undertaker

The Undertaker, a legendary wrestler known for his dedication to the sport, still keeps a close eye on WWE. He recently gave his stamp of approval to a current champion on his podcast.

The Undertaker, respected worldwide, is known for rarely offering praise. However, he was impressed by WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther.

“I really like him,” Undertaker said. “I think the sky’s the limit for him. I think he’s a little bit of a throwback to a different era, but has the ability to work and tell stories. I mean he just had that match with Dom [Mysterio] which is tough, a heel versus a heel is a tough match when somebody doesn’t turn. He kept Dominik a heel and he kept himself a heel, and I’m really, really high on him. But, yeah, we would probably fistfight about two chops in.”

During his podcast, The Undertaker complimented Gunther’s skills and storytelling ability. He said Gunther reminds him of an older wrestling style, but can still thrive in today’s environment. He even joked that a match between them would quickly turn into a brawl!

Gunther’s reign as champion has been record-breaking. He holds the record for both longest single reign and total number of days held, surpassing legends like The Honky Tonk Man and Pedro Morales. At WrestleMania 40, he’ll defend his title against Sami Zayn, looking to keep his historic run going.

What do you think? Does Gunther live up to The Undertaker’s praise?
