WWE smashed every record in the books with their successful edition of The Showcase of the Immortals, WrestleMania 40. As the edition of the biggest WrestleMania of all time came to a close, WWE had already built anticipation for next year’s show, WrestleMania 41.
For months after the conclusion of WrestleMania this year, there had been numerous speculations about the location of WrestleMania 41. Ever since the conversation began, Minneapolis and Las Vegas had been the contenders to host The Show of Shows. However, the latest report indicated that Vegas had overtaken Minneapolis as the frontrunner for WrestleMania. Last night after WWE Backlash France, it was revealed that Las Vegas will indeed host WrestleMania 41 on April 19 and 20 at the Allegiant Stadium, the same venue where WWE hosted the 2021 edition of WWE SummerSlam.
With the location for the biggest spectacle in sports entertainment now set in stone, let’s take a look at 4 early predictions for the matches that can happen at WrestleMania 41 in Sin City:
1. The dream Samoan showdown finally happens at WrestleMania 41
As the road to WrestleMania 40 started to take shape early this year, it was much speculated that the dream showdown between the two biggest stars from the legendary Anoa’i family, The Rock and Roman Reigns would finally come to fruition. Moreover, as The Rock revealed later on, the original plan had also called for a spectacular clash between The Tribal Chief and The Final Boss at this year’s Show of Shows.
However, with the fan backlash that emerged for the match who wanted to see The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes ‘Finish The Story’ prevalent for the last years in WWE, the company changed plans and honored the audience’s desire for the main event of the show. With Rhodes’ story completed, WWE can shift back its focus to this dream encounter for WrestleMania 41. With an entire calendar year to build up this historic rivalry, WrestleMania 41 could be the perfect sight for the world to witness The Rock and Roman Reigns in a one-on-one showdown.
2. The Best in the World vs The Visionary
Much like the aforementioned showdown, another match that was set in stone for WrestleMania 40 this year, pitted the real-life heated rivals, CM Punk and Seth Rollins against each other for the World Heavyweight Championship in a dream bout. However, Punk’s unfortunate triceps injury at the 2024 Royal Rumble event derailed those plans, paving the way for Punk’s other rival, Drew McIntyre to take his spot and clinch the title at WrestleMania 40.
Moreover, both Seth Rollins and CM Punk are currently on the sidelines with their respective injuries. With WrestleMania 41 now set to take place in Las Vegas and with a full year ahead of the company, the match can finally come to fruition as both men would be clear to compete by that time frame, setting the stage for the match, possibly billed ‘The Best in the World vs The Visionary’ at WrestleMania 41.
3. Charlotte Flair collides against Jade Cargill
Charlotte Flair is regarded as one of the accomplished in-ring competitors in the modern era of WWE. However, she suffered a major setback in December 2023 when The Queen suffered a devastating knee injury putting her on the sidelines and therefore, missing WrestleMania this year. On the other hand, the promotion saw the rise of the incomparable Jade Cargill in WWE within months of her WWE debut, and is looking to be a main event caliber star in the future.
With WrestleMania 41 months away, the time frame could see Charlotte Flair recuperate from her injury and Jade Cargill ascend to the top of the women’s division having already won the WWE tag team titles with Bianca Belair at WWE Backlash France recently and become a top-caliber star. This would set the stage for a one-on-one encounter between The Queen and The Storm at WrestleMania in Las Vegas next year.
4. Cody Rhodes encounters The Face that Runs the Place
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes did the unthinkable this year at WrestleMania by dethroning Roman Reigns and becoming the new Undisputed WWE Champion. Having defeated the current flagship star of the company, Rhodes could turn his attention towards the man that helped him Finish The Story, and the former face of WWE, John Cena.
John Cena was an instrumental part in Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania victory and also endorsed him as the next big star of the global juggernaut. With Cena’s career winding down fast as he mentioned himself, a dream showdown should happen between Cody Rhodes and John Cena next year to elevate Rhodes’ status even further, having faced and possibly defeated two major WWE superstars of all time.
