While speaking on the Busted Open podcast with the hosts Dave LaGreca and WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray, Cody Rhodes revealed that Vince McMahon told him to have an ego which is important to find out whether you are living up to their true potential and succeed in the hardcore business of professional wrestling.
“There’s a different feeling than just feeling lucky but the predominant feeling is grateful and lucky you have to have that ego. Vince McMahon taught us all to have an ego and humble doesn’t sell tickets so it’s always nice to have a little bit of that listen with all of the success that you had until this point when you look in the mirror do you personally feel that you are hitting on all cylinders right now.”
Vince McMahon’s guidance certainly seemed to work as Cody Rhodes finds himself sitting at the pinnacle of sports entertainment and holding the biggest prize in the industry.
