One of the major successes that the company has seen in the Triple H era is the positive reception to the Premium Live Events due to consistent storylines and great matches from the talent.
After the huge success of WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event 2024 this past weekend, WWE is now gearing up to host The Biggest Party of the Summer, WWE SummerSlam 2024, which will take place on August 3rd, 2024, at the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. With much anticipation building around the grand spectacle, let us take a look at the few shocking moments that could happen on the show:
1. The Goddess of WWE returns
Alexa Bliss is one of the cornerstone figures in the WWE Women’s division. She is one of the most respected veterans, having won several accolades in the company and established herself as one of the greatest of all time. However, The Five Feet of Fury has not been seen on WWE Programming since Royal Rumble 2023.
The former five-time WWE Women’s Champion went on maternity leave following the Royal Rumble 2023 event and has not been seen since. On her social media, Bliss was seen preparing for her in-ring return, and WWE SummerSlam 2024 is the perfect time for her to return to the company in front of her home crowd of Ohio.
2. Finn Balor betrays Damian Priest
The tensions have been at an all-time high on Judgment Day lately due to the differences between Damian Priest and Finn Balor and the controversial relationship between Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio. In between these boiling tensions, WWE fans are expecting Balor to turn on the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
WWE has been teasing tensions between Balor and Priest, where Balor is trying to help Damian retain his championship. However, The Archer of Infamy wants to prove himself a legitimate champion and does not want any assistance to retain his championship. The rising tension could result in a betrayal from Finn Balor, which might cost Damian Priest his title at WWE SummerSlam 2024.
3. Gunther becomes the new champion
Gunther is one of the most accomplished and established performers in the WWE. Gunther made his grand debut in the WWE as part of NXT UK and became the longest-reigning NXT UK Champion. Following his main roster debut, Gunther captured the Intercontinental Champion and held it for 616 days. Recently, Gunther won the King of the Ring Tournament, becoming the no.1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
With such a decorated resume and all the momentum his way, Gunther is highly expected to dethrone Damian Priest to become the new World Heavyweight Champion at WWE SummerSlam 2024, in which Damian Priest’s fellow Judgment Day mate Finn Balor could play a significant factor.
4. Dominik chooses Liv over Rhea
If one person has made the entire Monday Night RAW revolve around them, it is the current WWE Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan. Morgan has become the centre of attraction on Monday Nights due to her Liv Morgan Revenge Tour and her controversial relationship with the Dirty Dominik Mysterio.
For weeks, WWE fans have witnessed Liv Morgan luring Dominik Mysterio on Monday Night RAW. It appeared that Morgan might have succeeded in her endeavours, but Mami made her shocking return to the WWE at the last moment to ruin her plans. SummerSlam could see the inevitable match between Ripley and Morgan at WWE SummerSlam 2024, where Dominik could choose Liv Morgan over Rhea Ripely, shocking the entire WWE Universe in the process.
5. The Return of The Tribal Chief at WWE SummerSlam 2024
Roman Reigns has not been seen on the WWE television programming since he lost his Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 40. WWE fans have been clamouring for a Roman Reigns return for weeks now, and his return might be just around the corner.
With his long absence from the Bloodline and WWE Television Programming, Solo Sikao looked to step up his game and seize the opportunity to take over Roman Reigns’ position as The Tribal Chief. Roman Reigns is expected to return at WWE SummerSlam 2024 to comfort Solo Sikoa and begin a new journey in his WWE career.
