WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is set to take place at Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, New York, on December 14th, 2024. This will mark the event’s return to the WWE after over 16 years, and speculation is running rapidly about the stacked match card to be expected for the show.
The company has already announced that The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is all set to put his title on the line against The Prize Fighter Kevin Owens in the show’s main event. Let us predict three more matches that might take place at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
1. Liv Morgan vs. Iyo Sky: Women’s World Title
Iyo Sky won a Number One Contenders Battle Royal on the RAW after WWE Crown Jewel 2024, earning the right to challenge Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship. WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event seemed to be the perfect place for this huge match to take place.
WWE Universe was clamouring for a while for Liv Morgan to face any challenger for the title other than Rhea Ripley, as her storyline with The Eradicator made it quite impossible for the rest of the division to get their hands on the champion. However, a match between Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky will be a breath of fresh air for Morgan’s title run. Moreover, the bout was made official for the show on the December 2nd edition of RAW.
2. Chelsea Green vs Michin
A few weeks ago, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made a historic announcement on SmackDown when he unveiled the first-ever WWE Women’s United States Championship. He announced a tournament for the first champion to be crowned, with the finals taking place at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Out of the talented pool of the SmackDown Women’s Division, the likes of Bayley, Chelsea Green, and Michin have already advanced in the tournament. The last Quarterfinals match is set to take place on this week’s edition of SmackDown. Looking at the current field and odds on favourites, Saturday Night’s Main Event could see the rivalry renewed between Chelsea Green and Michin in the finals as they clash for the new title to ascend to the next level.
3. CM Punk vs Seth Rollins
After Gunther successfully defeated Damian Priest in an intense match at WWE Survivor Series 2024 card, it seemed that his next opponent would be CM Punk who earlier had declared his intentions to challenge for the World Heavyweight title. However, that would no longer be the case as RAW GM Adam Pearce announced that it would be Finn Balor instead to challenge the Ring General at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on the December 2nd edition of RAW.
On the other hand, The Best in the World was confronted by Seth Rollins at the start of the show. Following heated exchange of words, Punk and Rollins came to blows and had to be separated by the WWE officials. With this sight, it seems that WWE have preponed their plans to have this mega match between them from WrestleMania 41 to Saturday Night’s Main Event which could a blockbuster addition to the vintage show.
