WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024, taking place at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, featured a highly explosive WWE Women’s World title match between the reigning champion, Liv Morgan and the dynamic IYO Sky. Following a highly exceptional in-ring showdown, Morgan once again found a way to keep the title firmly in her grasp.
IYO Sky earned the opportunity to face Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship by winning a multi-woman Battle Royal on RAW. Since then, IYO had encountered Morgan and her bodyguard, Raquel Rodriguez, on multiple occasions while also enlisting some allies on her own, like Liv’s heated rival, Rhea Ripley, leading up to Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024.

As expected, Liv Morgan walked into the match with confidence as champion and her wall of protection, Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio, who left the scene after walking her down the aisle. On the other hand, IYO Sky decided to leave behind her Damage CTRL cohorts, Dakota Kai and Kairi Sane, to go it alone against the WWE Women’s World Champion.
The jam-packed intensity and highly exhilarating action between the top WWE female superstars. IYO Sky’s high agility and flying moves were looking to overpower Liv on multiple occasions, dominating the majority part of the match. However, Morgan used her mean streak and in-ring acumen to combat The Genius of the Skies, realising her title was at stake.
Despite not holding a title for almost a year, IYO Sky went full steam in her attempt to slither the Women’s title of The Miracle Kid of WWE. The match had the fans off their seats who erupted with a huge ovation for the women’s division match.
Following a fast-paced and highly captivating match, the final moments of the bout saw Liv Morgan block IYO Sky’s moonsault with her legs up and connected a timely Oblivion to retain her WWE Women’s World Championship in the process. However, her celebration were cut short by the arrival of Rhea Ripley. Mami and Morgan stared down each other, hinting that there was still unfinished business left between them.
