WWE Crown Jewel 2024 is just three weeks away and will take place in the Kingdom of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This would mark the sixth WWE Crown Jewel PLE since the event’s inception, and the WWE Universe has been filled with excitement for this event.

WWE has already announced two blockbuster matches to create some solid hype for the WWE Crown Jewel 2024. The event is set to crown the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Men’s and Women’s Champions, and the World Champs of both RAW and SmackDown will face off against each other to become the champions. Let us see if the Tag Team Championships will be defended in the event.

Will Men’s Tag Team Titles be defended at Crown Jewel 2024?

Triple H has been universally praised for his vision and booking of the WWE programming ever since he took over the business from Vince McMahon and became the Chief Content Officer of the global juggernaut. However, his strict rule of having 5 matches per Premium Live Event might have proven catastrophic for the WWE’s Tag Team Division.

WWE has attained a huge amount of success by doing Premium Live Events internationally in the last few years. The Game has been raised for his approach in booking the events, however, some fans have started questioning WWE’s strategy of booking only 5 matches at Premium Live Events leaving behind several superstars of the big event exposure and Tag Team Titles having to face the brunt of the situation most.

WWE Tag Team Championships have not been defended at the WWE Premium Live Events since WrestleMania 40. It has been over 6 months that the Tag Titles haven’t seen the daylight of a PLE. The Women’s Tag Team Titles had a better fate since the star power of the reigning champions, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill have put the titles on several PLEs since WrestleMania 40, however, that was not the case with Men’s Tag Titles.

During this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce announced that there would be a tournament to determine the challengers for the WWE World Tag Team Championships. This development gives hope that the tag titles may be defended at WWE Crown Jewel 2024, marking it the first time the titles to be defended at a PLE since WrestleMania 40.
