Why The Rock Dislikes Cody Rhodes: The Champion Shares His Side

Cody Rhodes made history at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the fateful night of April 7th, 2024 when The American Nightmare pinned The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion and fulfilled his lifelong dream of holding a WWE Championship.

Cody Rhodes feuded with Roman Reigns for over a year to once again earn his opportunity for the Undisputed WWE title in the main event of WrestleMania. However, he saw another obstacle in his way in ‘The Final Boss’, The Rock when he aligned himself with The Head of the Table.

Cody Rhodes justifies The Rock’s dislike of him

Popular MMA host and podcaster, Ariel Helwani was joined by the current Undisputed WWE Champion on his podcast, ‘The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani’ where Cody Rhodes discussed his feud with The Great One in-depth and further justified The Rock’s dislike of The Prodigal Son.

During the discussion, Cody Rhodes stated that the WWE fans started a movement for him when he was replaced by The Rock in his title match with Roman Reigns and accepted that if he created that situation, the fans elevated it to unprecedented heights leading to Rhodes’ getting his rightful opportunity, which made The Rock resent The Prodigal Son.

“If I created this situation the fans made it even larger for me and uh got me to the dance here so I would get it if he didn’t like me.”

Nonetheless, when it was all said and done, Cody Rhodes had the upper hand in the end when he hoisted the Undisputed WWE Championship over his shoulders in front of a defeated Roman Reigns and a disappointed Rock. Moving forward, Cody is determined to be a fighting champion and is next slated to face Logan Paul for his title at WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE.
