Anticipation was at an all-time high for Uncle Howdy’s impending return. For weeks, WWE has dropped several hints on its weekly programming about this return, which could potentially change the landscape of the global juggernaut.
On the June 17th, 2024, edition of Monday Night RAW, Uncle Howdy and his faction, The Wyatt Sicks, finally appeared on the WWE television programming and destroyed the gorilla position. The first WWE superstar whom the mysterious faction targeted was Chad Gable, who might very well be Uncle Howdy’s first opponent and victim.
Let us take a look at a few reasons that the former 4-time WWE Tag Team Champion will be Uncle Howdy’s first victim:
1. Vicious attack from Uncle Howdy on RAW
In the closing moments of Monday Night RAW from Corpus Christi, Uncle Howdy appeared on WWE television programming along with his demented faction, shocking the entire WWE Universe, which had been patiently waiting for months for the mysterious force’s return.
The closing visuals of Monday Night RAW’s 17th June 2024 edition were full of terror and chaos as Wyatt Sicks blazed hell on the gorilla position, destroying everything in the process. After decimating the backstage area, Uncle Howdy and his friends attacked Chad Gable, making him the first victim of their faction, which could make him his first opponent in a wrestling match as well.
2. Nikki Cross torments Chad Gable
After making a massive statement upon their major return to the WWE television programming, Uncle Howdy and Wyatt Sicks looked to reveal their true intentions and their story further. After destroying Gable a week prior, Wyatt Sicks’s Nikki Cross came out in the ring the following week after Chad Gable secured a spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
Upon Nikki Cross’s arrival, a frightened Chad Gable ran away from the ring in fear. Afterwards, Nikki Cross would go to the announcer’s table to pass a VHS tape to Michael Cole, which contained a confrontation between Uncle Howdy and Bo Dallas.
3. Uncle Howdy costs Gable a huge opportunity
After spending most of his career fighting for a chance to earn a spot on the top of the card, Chad Gable finally finds himself with a career-altering opportunity after qualifying for the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. If he wins, he will be in contention to win a World title in the future.
Gable finally has an opportunity that can change his career trajectory. Still, at the same time, the former multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion finds himself in a mud hole after being targeted by Uncle Howdy and Wyatt Sicks. WWE Universe could expect Uncle Howdy to cost Gable his chance to win a Money in the Bank briefcase to set up a future match between the two, probably at SummerSlam.
