After the spectacular success of WWE Backlash France, the promotion is set to host their next Premium Live Event, WWE King and Queen of the Ring in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 25th, 2024 which will see the coronation of their new King and Queen of the Ring respectively.
WWE King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event will be headlined by the high-stakes match between Cody Rhodes and the WWE United States Champion Logan Paul for the Undisputed WWE Championship. In another epic showdown, Becky Lynch is set to battle Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship, alongside a few other blockbusters planned for the card.
Amidst the excitement surrounding the event, let us take a look at some of the surprising results that WWE Universe might witness at the WWE King and Queen of the Ring:
1. The Beast returns at WWE King and Queen of the Ring
It has been almost 10 months since we have seen Brock Lesnar on WWE television programming. Lesnar last appeared in WWE when he battled Cody Rhodes at the Biggest Party of the Summer, WWE SummerSlam 2023 losing to The Prodigal Son in an instant classic.
Brock Lesnar was expected to return to WWE in time for WrestleMania for a big match, however, his rumored involvement in Janel Grant’s sexual accusation case against Vince McMahon scrapped those plans. Fans have been anticipating Lesnar’s return ever since Triple H and Paul Heyman name-dropped him previously, and WWE King and Queen of The Ring could be the perfect stage for his return considering his fascination with performing in Saudi Arabia for that big payday.
2. Uncle Howdy arrives with Wyatt 6
The mysterious QR codes have been surfacing all over the WWE television programming for months now, and in an interesting turn of events, WWE might have very well dropped the hints of a potential location where the person rumored behind the mystery, Uncle Howdy and his dark force of WWE superstars would be making their impending return to the WWE.
During last week’s Friday Night SmackDown, another QR code appeared during the WWE broadcast. When scanned, it led to a video consisting of multiple glitches and voice-overs. However, another intriguing element was the number ‘22423’ in the URL of the webpage that opened the QR code. Interestingly, this number was a postal code in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where WWE is hosting the WWE King and Queen of the Ring being a major clue that points toward the arrival of Uncle Howdy at the event.
3. The Ring General becomes the King of the Ring
Gunther has established himself as one of the most lethal and remarkable athletes in all of WWE history. The Ring General’s historic run as the longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time has solidified himself as a headliner in the company for years to come and the next step on the path to greatness for Gunther could be winning the King of The Ring tournament.
Gunther dominated this King of The Ring tournament en route to his journey to reach the finals and is now set to battle Randy Orton for the crown. With high stakes involved including a World Championship match at SummerSlam for the winner as announced by Triple H, WWE Universe could once again witness the ascension of The Ring General by winning in the finals and taking his career to greater heights.
4. Irish bird becomes The Queen of the Ring
Monday Night RAW got their hands on a major acquisition when they drafted the former NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria in the WWE Draft 2024. Lyra was one of the best female wrestlers to step inside an NXT ring and is already making big waves on RAW as she has reached the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament.
WWE sees huge potential in Lyra and with fellow Irish woman, Becky Lynch also by her side, the momentum is clearly on her side making her the favorite to topple her opponent in the finals, Nia Jax to win the Queen of the Ring tournament and earn the crown and a future championship match at WWE SummerSlam this year.
