John Cena is known for staying in the spotlight for multiple reasons including his marriage to Shay Shariatzadeh. The duo tied the knot in October 2020 and recollecting their initial days, Cena went on to disclose an interesting story that led her to meet his future wife for the first time.
How did Shay Shariatzadeh’s friend’s Cena fandom lead to their first step as a future couple?
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stem Show“, John Cena shared that he met Shay while watching the New England Patriots Play in the Super Bowl in 2019 at a bar. Cena stated that he was invited by a friend to watch the championship game. Just then, around five people walked in on the table sitting right across them. Cena further said, he was in awe to see the first sight of Shay Shariatzadeh and stopped watching the game right after.
“So we watched the game, and then the table sitting right across from us — this group of five people walked in,” he said. “Man, I stopped watching the game. I didn’t even know it was over.”
The Leader of the Cenation added that he noticed Shariatzadeh while she was with her friends and had no courage to walk up to her until one of Shay’s friends, who was a huge Cena fan, asked to take a photo with the WWE Megastar. The friend brought Shay Shariatzadeh with her and clicked their first fan photo which they have hung proudly at the place of hanging their hats.
“So I got a picture with her, and then she brought by my wife-to-be over, we have our first fan photo, which we hang proudly where we hang our hats. It’s awesome,”
