From garbage to greatness: Cody Rhodes on Fans Support
Cody Rhodes fulfilled his dream of holding a WWE Championship when he dethroned Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 in a memorable fashion. However, this moment of victory came after a long road of struggle and witnessing so many highs and lows in his career. Cody appreciated his loyal fans who never gave up on him despite any bad gimmicks he had throughout the years.
During an interview on ‘The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani’, Cody Rhodes expressed gratitude towards the fans for their support throughout his career. He admitted to portraying some terrible gimmicks in the early stage of his career and despite not being ready, fans still stood by him and supported him to the point that now he has headlined WrestleMania and dedicated his victory to the WWE Universe.
“I’m incredibly lucky to be in this spot and be able to have as many chances as I’ve had because I started as such garbage and again I started way too early like I’m in this tag team with Sean Spears they should have got Spears instead they pulled me up because of my speech at the hall of fame and I just wasn’t ready so for fans to forgive that lack of Readiness over and over and over and over again for me to finally start to click uh that’s uh again the Wrestlemania is entirely for them.”
Cody Rhodes has ‘Finished his Story‘ by winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40 he dedicated not only to his family and friends but to the fans who were his constant pillar of support throughout. Now, The Prodigal Son is the proud champion and is determined and laser-focused on becoming one of the greatest WWE champions of all time much like his peers and how possibly Dusty Rhodes would have wanted him to be.
