Cody Rhodes made his stupendous return to the WWE at WrestleMania 38 and defeated Seth Rollins in a match that was a stellar showdown. Upon his huge return to the promotion, Cody Rhodes became a fan favorite and the WWE Universe started to back him up as the potential candidate to beat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Cody Rhodes left WWE in 2016 and was one of the key people in the creation of All Elite Wrestling. Throughout his run in AEW, Rhodes was involved in several controversial angles which saw him taking shots at Triple H and WWE and recently made an interesting revelation about his boss.
Cody Rhodes believes Triple H has no reason to push him after past animosity
The American Nightmare managed to garner the attention of the WWE Universe upon returning to the global juggernaut. Moreover, Cody Rhodes created an undeniable connection with the fans that ultimately strengthened his odds of being pushed as the face of the company despite his turbulent past.
Cody Rhodes was a special guest on popular MMA host Ariel Helwani’s podcast, ‘The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani‘ where Rhodes spoke about his relationship with current WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque. The Prodigal Son stated that when he infamously broke the throne to take a shot at Triple H in the spirit of trash talk and sports entertainment, he believed that such instances get under the skin if we take them personally. But Triple H had always been an incredible mentor to him despite having no reason to push him after every shot he took at The Game during his time away from WWE.
“You know breaking of the throne I think I said piss an bodybuilder at one point in one of my you know independent it may even been an aw rant something all of the cages all of it in the spirit of trash talk and sports entertainment. But we take this stuff personally it gets under our skin he really had no reason to to take care of me uh and he has just been an incredible guide an incredible mentor.”
Cody Rhodes has developed a very healthy relationship with all WWE officials, including Triple H, and has become such a trusted company man who is now pushing him to establish Rhodes as the next potential face of their company. Maintaining the trust and respect of the WWE, Cody Rhodes is looking to become the most profitable world champion that WWE has ever seen.
