There is no doubt that the island of WWE is currently dominated and ruled quoting the man’s special counsel Paul Heyman by ” Your Tribal Chief……Roman Reigns.” Ever since returning to the WWE at Summerslam 2020, Roman has unleashed a rage of smashing, stacking and defeating every superstar in his path from Legends like Edge & John Cena to stars of the current roster like Cesaro, Kevin Owens holding the WWE Universal title for a long period of time.

Reigns title run might be the best thing going on in the WWE today, but as they say “All good things must come to an end.” We can assume that Reigns monstrous run as the current Universal Champion would end sometime in the near future. So here is our list of  Top 5 Superstars from both RAW & Smackdown who can dethrone the Tribal Chief and end his impressive title run.

5. Seth Rollins

A match that has happened in the past, but would have a different magnitude when it will happen again between The Drip God ‘Seth Rollins’ and The Head of the Table Roman Reigns. Rollin’s re-emergence as the Messiah, further evolving into his current Drip character after a failed run as a Babyface in 2019 has been praised by the critics and the fans. Let’s not forget how Seth has outsmarted Reigns in the past on numerous occasions, from stealing his moment at Wrestlemania 31 and cleanly defeating him at WWE Money in the Bank in 2016 in a high stakes WWE title match proving that he would go to any length to get the job done.

There was also a brief moment at WWE Wrestlemania Backlash where we saw Seth and Roman in a brief stare down where the fans thought that it was the direction WWE would go with next, surrounding the Universal Title at the time but it didn’t happen

Although, Rollins was drafted to RAW and Reigns to Smackdown in the 2021 WWE Draft, the entire WWE universe knows that this match is inevitable in the future. The Drip God has been operating on an entirely different level with his recent rivalry with WWE Hall of Famer Edge. Dethroning  of The Tribal Chief would sky rocket his run to much greater heights and could see the fans Embrace the Universal Champion Vision.

4. Gable Stevenson

An unpopular opinion that could surely prove to be the emergence of one of the most technically sound amateur wrestler, who also is the newest addition to the Monday Night RAW roster- Gable Stevenson. The former Olympian who won a Gold Medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 has already drawn comparisons with the likes of Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle and the biggest shocker came when he was drafted to RAW in the 2021 WWE Draft, a decision taken by the Chairman of the Board Vincent Kennedy McMahon himself meaning that WWE has planned a big push for him.

Moreover, there are multiple reports that the reigning NCAA Champion is already penciled in to make his official in-ring debut at Wrestlemania 38.

Much like his fellow amateur predecessors Lesnar and Angle, WWE seems to give Gable a huge impact right out of the gate and make him quickly rise to the top of WWE despite his inexperience in the sports entertainment world.

So if WWE has made the decision to push Stevenson as a top star in the company, they could very well give him some experience for a few months and later on recreate 2002 The Rock vs Brock Lesnar storyline with a rookie Gable doing what most WWE Superstars failed to do- defeating the current top guy Roman Reigns and becoming the new Universal Champion to cement himself as one of the top guys of the Wrestling Giant.

3. Keith Lee

Despite his immense success at WWE NXT, Keith Lee has not been able to enjoy the same level of recognition on the main roster ever since he debuted back in August 2020. The former NXT champion although has battled stars like Randy Orton and even been involved in a WWE championship match, but contraction with COVID-19 followed by heart inflammation condition derailed his build towards the top of the food chain:

With his resurgence as Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee looking as a true monster ready to wreck everyone in his path, a feud  and victory over The Head of the table could just be the breakthrough he needs to ascend to main event status in the WWE.

However, this scenario now seems unlikely due to Lee’s shocking release from the WWE in November 2021.

2. Brock Lesnar

It can be argued that one of the most legitimate pick to end Roman Reigns’ year-long run as the Universal Champion is indeed Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate returning at the  end of the Tribal Chief’s monumental victory over John Cena at SummerSlam 2021  sent shockwaves across the entire WWE with fans excited to finally see current and former Paul Heyman guys coming face to face since their last encounter at SummerSlam in 2018.

Although Reigns picked up a controversial victory over Brock with some questionable assistance by Paul Heyman and his cousins, The Usos at WWE Crown Jewel, as per Paul Davis of Wrestling News.com, Lesnar was not scheduled for any more appearances until January 2022 at the time of the Royal Rumble.

However, the Beast Incarnate re-emerged much before that on Smackdown after his storyline suspension was lifted to once again challenge the Tribal Chief at WWE’s Day 1 PPV but due to Roman being tested positive for COVID-19 merely hours before the event, the match was eventually cancelled with Lesnar getting added to the Fatal 4 Way match scheduled for the WWE championship and went to defeat Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and former champion Big E to once again ascend to the top of the WWE mountain.

With Lesnar now holding the WWE title and Reigns being the Universal title, all indications point towards a major showdown at Wrestlemania 38 between the two superstars in a Champion vs Champion Winner take all match which could also prove to be the demise of the island of relevancy by Brock Lesnar as he has already done in the past, defeating Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania.

1. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre led the charge of WWE in the most unprecedented times of the Pandemic Era rising to the top of the mountain with his two reigns as the WWE Champion. After his second reign ended, McIntyre has fallen short in his various attempts to regain the world championship losing some of his momentum in the process.

With the Scottish Warrior alongside his trusted sword Angela drafted to Smackdown as a part of the WWE Draft 2021, McIntyre finds himself in the yard currently ruled by a ruthless and dominant Head of the Table with the Universal Championship firmly in his grasp.

We saw the epic encounter between these two forces back at Survivor Series 2020 in a  Champion VS Champion match which saw Reigns pick up a controversial win. The short build-up encircled with a fast-paced and excellent match drew comparisons with the rivalry of two of the most iconic figures of WWE’s Attitude Era- The Rock & Stone Cold Steve Austin.

This match was also discussed for the main event for Wrestlemania 38 at one point, so it could be the perfect crowning moment for McIntyre winning the title from Reigns and finally getting the title win recognition in front of a sell-out stadium in Texas that didn’t happen due to the pandemic when he won his first WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 36.
