“Hard work pays off….Dreams come true. Bad times don’t last…but BAD GUYS do.”

– Scott Hall’s famous WWE Hall of Fame quote

The wrestling world received a massive shocker on March 15 2022 with the untimely passing of one of the biggest legends and a true pioneer of the industry who became the first character that made BAD being the new cool, the one, and only Bad Guy Razor Ramon, also known to the world by his real name Scott Hall.

Hall was reportedly admitted to the hospital after having a bad fall breaking his hip in the process for which he underwent hip replacement surgery. During the entire process, a blood clot was dislodged, resulting in him suffering three heart attacks on March 12. The Bad Guy was put on life support at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia.

On March 14, it was announced by Scott’s best friend, WWE Hall of Famer and Legend Kevin Nash through an Instagram post that his family had decided to discontinue the life support, and the following day, we would say good night to the bad guy with Scott Hall passing on March 15 and the wrestling business would lose one of its most beloved revolutionaries who changed the business forever.

Debuting in the early 1990s as Razor Ramon in the WWE, his unprecedented style in the ring, personality and overall Bad Guy demeanor made him a household name and one of the most popular superstars of the Golden Age of WWE. His stardom rose to even greater heights when he and fellow WWE Superstar Kevin Nash sent shockwaves by jumping ship to WCW in 1996 debuting as The Outsiders and later going on to form one of the most legendary factions of all time alongside Hollywood Hulk Hogan, nWo aka The New World Order.

With the chico moving on to the afterlife leaving his loved ones and millions of fans behind, we remember this iconic legend with our own Scott Hall tribute outlining some interesting facts about his wrestling career.

4. Legend to have never won the world title

There are very few Superstars in the wrestling business whose impact and contribution transcends championship wins and Scott Hall surely belongs in that elite category. While he did win multiple titles during his illustrious career in major promotions like WWE & WCW, a world championship win would always be omitted from his impressive resume. Many critics and fans have considered him to be the best professional wrestler to never win the world championship.

WWE legend and current AEW commentator Jim Ross once spoke about the situation on his podcast in 2021, Grillin JR citing certain backstage issues such as substance abuse being the reason for him not getting a world title run. But as mentioned in the beginning, his contributions to the industry were far beyond a world championship win which didn’t stop him from becoming one of the most decorated names in Sports Entertainment.

3. The first-ever 3 & 4-time champion

Razor Ramon, as he was known by the name during his first run in the WWE will always go down in history as one of the greatest WWE Intercontinental Champions of all time. Even today when we think of the workhorse championship, we still remember the iconic first-ever ladder match in WWE history at Wrestlemania X featuring The Bad Guy and The Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels for the Undisputed Intercontinental title. The match will always be remembered for Shawn’s jaw-dropping crossbody from the top of the ladder and Razor’s amazing rise to the top to capture both championships.

The Bad Guy has created some of the most iconic moments as the Intercontinental champion, but little do people know that he was the first person to become the first-ever 3 and 4-time holder of the prestigious title, winning his third championship in 1995 defeating Jeff Jarrett at a house show in a ladder match and Dean Douglas at In Your House 4 during the same year to capture his fourth.

2. Title wins

Scott Hall has won the illustrious WWE Intercontinental championship 4 times in his career, a title that became synonymous with him during the Golden age of wrestling.

But the nWo founding member has his share of success too when it came to championship reigns adding more titles to his resume in WWE’s chief competitor WCW during the Monday Night Wars winning one Television, two United States, and seven Tag Team titles in the process.

His other title wins include one reign as the TNA tag team champion with his nWo comrade Kevin Nash, while also claiming single title reigns in World Wrestling Council as the WWC Caribbean Heavyweight and Universal Heavyweight Champion.

1. Two Hall of Fame Gimmicks

The life and career of Scott Hall were well-deserving of an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame which came to fruition in 2014 when the WWE announced that he will be inducted in that year’s class under his old gimmick, Razor Ramon with WWE making no mention of his work done after leaving the company.

However, in 2020, it was announced that Scott Hall would once again take his place in the WWE Hall of Fame that year this time under his real name as a part of the legendary faction, nWo alongside Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Sean Waltman.

While many other Legends have been inducted twice in the Hall of Fame, The Legendary Chico became the only superstar in the history of WWE to be inducted under both his professional wrestling gimmicks, Razor Ramon and Scott Hall, a feat that looks unlikely for any superstar to achieve in the coming years cementing himself as the proud achiever of a rare accolade.

While Scott Hall was taken off life support by his family as a way to end his suffering and depart for heaven, we would always keep him in our hearts as one of the most influential and popular superstars to grace the wrestling ring with his legacy living on forever.
