NXT is known to deliver some of the best events in the wrestling world, the developmental territory of WWE has produced some of the best Premium Live Events and has delivered unbelievable matches in the history of the company. Now following on that, NXT looks to make a huge statement as they hosted their NXT Battleground 2024 PLE, which took place at historic UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
NXT Battleground 2024 is in the history books now and has delivered some memorable moments. Battleground was a historical event for more than one reason, not only was the event taking place in a UFC venue but it was the first time that the TNA Knockouts Champion was going to challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship in the history.
Let us take a look at three of the most memorable moments from the NXT Battleground 2024 PLE:
1. All Ego debuts at NXT Battleground 2024
The NXT Champion Trick Williams was preparing himself to battle against the leader of Metafour Naom Dar at WWE Battleground 2024 when somebody took out Dar and it left an opening for who Williams was going to face at NXT Battleground. After a few weeks, Ethan Page would debut in the main event of an episode of NXT attacking Trick William and further revealing himself who took out Naom Dar.
Upon his debut on NXT, Ethan Page made a major statement and went on to challenge the NXT Champion to put his title on the line at NXT Battleground 2024. Even though Page fell short of winning the title in his debut match, All Ego made quite an impression after putting on a stunning performance against Trick Williams.
2. Kelani Jordan made history
At NXT Stand and Deliver, General Manager Ava made a historic announcement that NXT would be crowning their first-ever NXT North American Women’s Champion and soon it was revealed that a 6 women’s ladder match would take place to crown the inaugural champion at NXT Battleground 2024.
After a series of qualifying matches, Mia Yim, Kelani Jordan, Lash Legend, Jaida Parker, Sol Ruca, and Fallon Henley secured their names to make history and earned an opportunity to become the first-ever NXT North American Women’s Champion at NXT Battleground 2024. After a spectacular match filled with daredevil sequences, Kelani Jordan punched her name in the history books when she grabbed the title after climbing the ladder and clinching the championship.
3. A historic clash
Two weeks ago, the General Manager of NXT shocked the world when she revealed that the TNA Knockouts Champion, The Juggernaut Jordynne Grace will be challenging Roxanne Perez for her NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Battleground 2024 marking it the first event in history where a female champion from another promotion was going to challenge for a WWE title on a WWE PLE.
It was a momentous occasion when Jordynne Grace walked down the aisle to battle for the NXT Women’s Championship, even before the duo started to wrestle, the crowd at UFC Apex started chanting ‘This is Awesome’ at the duo to show how much the moment and the match meant to them. The high-flying style of Roxanne Perez matched perfectly with the strength that the TNA Knockouts Champion possesses and gave the crowd a match to remember. Even though Jordyanne Grace did not win the NXT Women’s Championship due to the shenanigans from Ash by Elegance and Tatum Paxley, she made a huge impression and showed out in front of the WWE Universe at NXT Battleground 2024.
4. Ash By Elegance debuts
The TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace and The NXT Women’s Champion were putting on a show for the WWE fans in the UFC Apex area at NXT Battleground 2024 when a very familiar face for the WWE Universe interrupted the match in Ash By Elegance who was formerly known as Dana Brooke in the WWE.
Dana Brooke was one of the mainstays in the WWE Women’s division for over a decade before being released by the company last year. However, Dana would go on to reinvent herself completely and would debut for TNA under the name of Ash By Elegance. The former WWE 24/7 Champion is looking to make a name for herself in TNA and in the process, she has now also debuted on WWE television programming under the Ash by Elegance gimmick.
