The Rock’s return changed the trajectory of WrestleMania 40 when The Great One made his surprising return to the WWE this past February to challenge Roman Reigns. However, the outcry of the fans was too loud to ignore which led WWE to change the plans and give Cody Rhodes his place back to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The Final Boss then teamed up with Roman Reigns to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event of WrestleMania 40 Day 1 in a losing effort. The Rock has not been seen on the WWE television programming since the RAW after WrestleMania, and fans are wondering whom The Rock might face at next year’s show. Let’s decode the conversation in our WrestleMania 41 predictions:
1. Final Boss vs The OTC: Biggest WrestleMania 41 Predictions
The People’s Champion and The Tribal Chief teamed up together to take down the fierce duo of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 Saturday. The Rock left no stone unturned to make their match and their story the biggest highlight and talking point of the Showcase of the Immortals.
Even though Reigns and The Rock aligned together to strengthen the Bloodline, but original plans called for The Final Boss and The Original Tribal Chief to collide in the biggest dream match of all time in the main event of WrestleMania 40. Even though fans did not get that match at WrestleMania, if it happens at WrestleMania 41, it will go down as one of the biggest marquee matches in the history of WWE.
2. The Rock vows to take revenge from WrestleMania 40
The Rock made his spectacular return to WWE this year and quickly aligned himself with his cousin, Roman Reigns to take down Cody Rhodes’ dreams of becoming the new Undisputed WWE Champion. Many WWE Fans have been waiting for this eventual clash between The Rock and Cody Rhodes which is inevitable at this stage considering their epic rivalry on the road to WrestleMania 40.
The original plans called for The Rock to return to have a blockbuster dream match with Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40. However, a major fan backlash forced WWE to change their creative plans leading The Rock to develop this resentment for Cody Rhodes afterward. Witnessing the events that happened and The Rock making it clear that he would come back for Rhodes on the RAW after WrestleMania 40, a dream clash between the duo looks inevitable, and WrestleMania 41 seems to be the perfect place for it.
3. Once in a lifetime rivalry renewed
John Cena and The Rock were embroiled in a heated feud that began in 2011 upon his return to WWE from Hollywood. Their rivalry culminated at WrestleMania 29 on April 7th, 2013 when the Cenation leader defeated The Rock clean on the Grandest Stage of them all to win the WWE Championship.
Bot Superstars have stayed in the headlines for different reasons this year in the WWE. The Rock made his shocking return to the WWE and wrestled at WrestleMania 40, and John Cena announced his retirement tour at WWE Money in the Bank PLE. A potential WrestleMania rematch between the two would sell out the entire stadium at WrestleMania 41.
4. The biggest rivals collide
The Megastar who has arguably defined The Attitude Era along with The Rock is his iconic rival, Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Texas Rattlesnake stole the show when he competed against Kevin Owens in the main event of WrestleMania 38 Day One, and fans have been clamoring for one more match from Stone Cold since then.
The Texas RattleSnake has hinted at making an appearance at next year’s WrestleMania in a recent interview, and a potential match between The Rock and Stone Cold would turn out to be the biggest main event that WWE could possibly book for WrestleMania 41.
