Cody Rhodes shocked the entire world when he jumped ship from rival promotion AEW to the global juggernaut WWE in 2022. He returned to the company at WrestleMania 38, defeating Seth Rollins, marking his first appearance in WWE in over six years.
Since then, Cody Rhodes has carved out a Hall-of-Famer-worthy career in the WWE, defeating Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40 and ‘Finished the Story’. The American Nightmare is on a run of a lifetime and is not expected to stop anytime soon.
Cody Rhodes to become a part-time WWE star later?
The American Nightmare is among the pantheon of WWE superstars who have defined this industry time and time again. However, most of those superstars went to a part-time schedule after reaching a certain level of stardom in their professional wrestling careers.
Cody Rhodes joined the likes of The Rock, John Cena, and Roman Reigns as the superstars who have reigned as the Face of the WWE at a certain point in their career. However, all of them went on to become a part-time performer once they peaked in their wrestling careers.
Rhodes has shown a deep desire to be a mainstay in the WWE for years and to be a fighting champion. However, it could change in the future once he reaches the epitome of his WWE career and he could follow in their footsteps, taking a part-time role.
On the work front, Cody Rhodes has made it clear in several interviews in the past that he wants to become a fighting champion and give a chance to anyone who will step up to The American Nightmare for the title.
