WHY MJF WILL LEAVE AEW SOON & GO TO WWE?

Maxwell Jacob Friedman aka MJF has proven his worth to become one of the fastest rising stars in the wrestling world due to his narcissistic behavior, astonishing promo skills, and prowess inside the squared circle. MJF has been considered one of the key players in putting the upstart promotion AEW on the map since its inception in 2019.

But given the current scenario, looks like Mr. Maxwell could be on his way out of All Elite Wrestling sooner rather than later due to being unhappy with the company for many months now.

He has been pretty much open about his frustrations with his AEW contract and management expressing it on multiple occasions and in interviews claiming that “all these f**king ex-WWE guys“ were making an absurd amount of money but didn’t match up to the screen presence brought to the table by the cocky Superstar.

The latest episode surrounding MJF’s unhappiness came around this past week when he decided to no show a scheduled meet-n-greet one day before his match against Wardlow at Double or Nothing 2022. Many sources claim that he decided to not board the plane to Las Vegas where the event was scheduled to take place and even became unavailable to reach on phone.

After creating a hostile situation, MJF did however appear at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view after it was confirmed to open the show at the last minute. He was met with a negative reception upon his walk towards the ring with boos, “You f—-d up” chants, “he showed up” chants and more.

The ending of the match saw Warlow free himself from the clutches of the arrogant Superstar decimating MJF with an impressive ten powerbombs and securing the pinfall to become an official part of the AEW roster, while MJF was stretchered out of the arena. This punishment can be seen as a reprimand by Tony Khan for MJF’s presumed actions of trying to hold the company hostage by missing his scheduled appearance and expressing out frustrations in the past.

As noted by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, MJF arrived shortly before his match against Warlow and left immediately after the match was over.

MJF claimed to us that he showed up shortly before his match, left right after, and has a lot to think about.

I haven't been able to verify this with other people at the show, or if this was planned/approved/suggested by AEW.

However, another report by Fightful Select claims that MJF is still in Las Vegas and apparently has a meeting scheduled with Tony Khan to probably discuss the situation leading up to Double or Nothing.

Looking at the young superstar’s history and share of problems with All Elite, it seems that the next logical destination for the Salt of the Earth could be the biggest wrestling giant and AEW’s arch rival, WWE.

Ever since his friend Cody Rhodes jumped ship from AEW to WWE making a shocking appearance at Wrestlemania 38 as Seth Rollins’s mystery opponent, various speculations have been going on that more AEW superstars are likely to follow suit and head to WWE with MJF being on the top of that list.

Although his current AEW contract expires on January 1, 2024, his boiling frustrations, problems and recent controversy are surely an indication that his future might be better in Vince McMahon’s promotion. He also made it clear that he might try to force a move if the price is right for him to switch to WWE.

"Who here would want to see me in WWE? So let me explain something to you people – I did not get into this business to make any of you happy. I got into this business to make as much money as humanly possible. And if Vincent Kennedy McMahon is willing to shell out more money than my good friend Tony Khan, then yes, I'd go to WWE," MJF said.

MJF’s next move is yet to be seen regarding the situation and right now a move to WWE doesn’t seem to be on the cards, but if he manages to get out of his current AEW deal the world would become witness to some dream matches for the former Pinnacle member against some of the best superstars WWE has to offer.
