Early Life & Real Name
Torrie Wilson was born on July 24, 1975, in Boise, Idaho, US. Although she is known to perform in front of thousands of people in her WWE career, she was extremely shy and found her niche in cheerleading and dance while growing up. Her real name is Torrie Anne Wilson.
Torrie revealed in an interview that she did not watch wrestling while growing up but said once she got involved in the industry, she quickly became a huge fan of Hulk Hogan. Torrie Wilson also developed a close friendship with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Stacey Keibler.
Romantic Life
After entering the world of professional wrestling, Wilson began dating fellow WWE Superstar Billy Kidman. After dating him for over four years, Wilson married Kidman in 2003. However, after a few years, the couple parted ways in 2008.
Torrie Wilson also dated New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez from 2011 to 2014. However, later on, Wilson married Justin Tupper on September 19, 2019.
WWE Debut
During the invasion angle, when WCW and WWE merged, Torrie Wilson made her WWE Television debut as a heel on the June 28, 2001 edition of Friday Night SmackDown as part of The Alliance. Along with Stacey Keibler, the duo was used in numerous flirtatious matches, such as bikini matches and gown matches.
Wilson was involved in a controversial storyline with Dawn Marie, which saw Marie enter a romantic relationship with Wilson’s father, Al Wilson. During her WWE career, Torrie Wilson posed for Playboy magazine. In July 2005, she was moved to the RAW brand, where she formed the infamous Vince’s Devils stable alongside Candice Michelle and Victoria.
Retirement and Future Appearances
Torrie Wilson was drafted to SmackDown as part of WWE Draft 2007, where she was seen in several feuds with Victoria, Krissy Vaine, and others. Wilson’s last on-screen appearance came on the November 23rd edition of SmackDown, where she defeated Victoria. Wilson took a break from WWE to undergo physical therapy; however, she was released in 2008, and she subsequently retired from professional wrestling.
After retiring from the business, Wilson returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 25 to compete in a Women’s Battle Royal and then went on to make an appearance on RAW’s 25th anniversary. Apart from competing at All Women’s PLE, Evolution, Torrie Wilson has also competed in two Royal Rumble matches in 2018 and 2021. Her long-time friend, Stacy Keibler, inducted her into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.
