The tournament for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship began a few weeks ago on RAW. While no date is set for the coronation of the inaugural champion, it is expected that it will happen on Netflix’s debut episode of Monday Night RAW.
Dakota Kai competed in the first round of the tournament and defeated Katana Chance and Shayna Baszler to advance further. In the next round, which is the semi-finals. She will face Zoey Stark, who defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Kayden Carter in her first-round match. The winner will enter the tournament’s finals to face the finalist from the other side of the bracket.
For years, Dakota Kai has scratched and clawed her way to make a place in the highly competitive WWE women’s division. Despite multiple injuries derailing her momentum time and time again, Kai has fought back her way to the company and become highly popular with the fans. Moreover, as soon as the tournament for the new title was announced, many fans rallied on social media in support of the Damage CTRL member to win the workhorse title for the women. This makes Dakota Kai a strong favourite to become the inaugural champion.
