The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes ushered the WWE into a new era when he dethroned The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns and ended his historic title run to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion in the main event of WrestleMania 40 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in front of a sold-out audience.

Cody Rhodes has earned his rightful spot as one of the most popular performers to ever compete at the top of the food chain in WWE and the merchandise sales, crowd reactions and connection with the WWE Universe surely prove his credibility as the next face of the company, while recently reflecting on the same topic for one of the most popular and important time periods for WWE, The Attitude Era.

Who does Cody Rhodes think is the ‘most profitable’ WWE star of ‘The Attitude Era’?

The American Nightmare was a special guest on the Sports Illustrated Podcast, “SI Media with Jimmy Traina” where he discussed his WrestleMania triumph, spoke about his family, and answered an interesting question regarding The Attitude Era.

Cody Rhodes stated that according to him, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the most profitable WWE Superstar of his generation, putting him above his formidable rival, The Rock who was at par with Austin during their prime. He further added that The Texas Rattlesnake set the bar for the current generation to follow and had immense respect for his contributions to the business.

“I know a lot of people talked about Stone Cold Steve Austin and uh him being there him not being there and stories and all that I have nothing but love for Stone Cold that just again the most profitable excuse me sorry again the most profitable and uh unbelievable you know wrestler for his time and that Attitude Era has been held up against what we’ve what we’ve been doing for so long it’s such a great feeling to know that we’re we’re now out kicking it we’re now they set that bar for us and they they set this table for us and now we’re we’re doing it all again so nothing but love … for the Texas Rattlesnake.”

Cody Rhodes has been raising the bar for the generations to come now. Moreover, WWE has lightning stuck in the bottle with The Prodigal Son as he is one of the big reasons for the business reaching unprecedented heights. On the wrestling front, Cody Rhodes is next set to face Logan Paul at the WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE with his Undisputed WWE Title on the line in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 25.
