WWE Survivor Series 2024 is just three weeks away and is set to take place in the Rogers Arena, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. That would mark the 38th annual WWE Survivor Series Premium Live Event in history, and the WWE Universe has been filled with excitement for this event.
Though the card for the event has not been announced yet, it is heavily rumored that The new Bloodline will face The Original Bloodline in the main event of WWE Survivor Series 2024, and there will be some other blockbuster matches in the line-up. Let us see if the Tag Team Championships will be defended in the event.
Will Men’s Tag Team Titles be Defended at WWE Survivor Series 2024?
Triple H has been universally praised for his vision and booking of the WWE programming ever since he took over the business from Vince McMahon and became the Chief Content Officer of the global juggernaut. However, his strict rule of having 5 matches per Premium Live Event might have proven catastrophic for the WWE’s Tag Team Division.
WWE has attained a huge amount of success by doing Premium Live Events internationally in the last few years. The Game has been raised for his approach to booking the events. However, some fans have started questioning WWE’s strategy of booking only 5 matches at Premium Live Events, leaving behind several superstars of the big event exposure and Tag Team Titles having to face the brunt of the situation most.
The WWE Tag Team Championships have not been defended at the WWE Premium Live Events since WrestleMania 40. It has been over six months since the Tag Titles have seen the daylight of a PLE. The Women’s Tag Team Titles had a better fate since the star power of the reigning champions, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, has put the titles on several PLEs since WrestleMania 40. However, that was not the case with the Men’s Tag Titles.
A few weeks ago, on an edition of Monday Night RAW, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce announced that there would be a tournament to determine the challengers for the WWE World Tag Team Championships. This development gives hope that the tag titles may be defended at WWE Survivor Series 2024, but with the card already being so staked and HHH emphasizing putting only 5 matches per PLE, it seems unlikely that the titles will be defended in Canada.
