WWE has begun creating buzz for its first Premium Live Event of 2025, WWE Royal Rumble 2025, which is all set to take place on February 1, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana, Indianapolis. After an extraordinary debut episode of WWE RAW on Netflix, WWE is quite confident that the event will also be one of the most successful Rumble ever.
Top WWE Superstars such as CM Punk, Roman Reigns, John Cena, and Seth Rollins have announced their entries in their Royal Rumble matches. Cody Rhodes is set to face Kevin Owens for his Undisputed WWE Title in a ladder match at the event. Still, nothing has been announced for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther yet, making fans wonder if The Ring General will throw a swerve and participate in the Royal Rumble match at WWE Royal Rumble 2025.
Can Gunther Shockingly Enter the Rumble match at WWE Royal Rumble 2025?
Gunther won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2024 after defeating Damian Priest. Since then, Gunther has defended his title against the likes of Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and several other top WWE RAW Superstars. With Gunther set to defend his title against Jey Uso at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and no match for the Rumble event, participation in the Men’s Royal Rumble match looks like a real possibility.
In the past, superstars like Brock Lesnar and Charlotte Flair entered a Royal Rumble match as a World Champion. Flair in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match, and Brock Lesnar in the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble matches. Now, this year, Gunther stands a chance to make history by entering the Men’s Rumble match at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 show.
So far, Gunther has exceeded all the expectations that WWE fans had from The Ring General and his title reign. With blockbuster matches and feuds, he has proven to the world that he has what it takes to carry the company on his shoulders. However, he still needs that one moment that could legitimize his title run. Therefore, his participation in and winning the Men’s Royal Rumble could be exactly the boost that Gunther’s title reign needs now.
