Wrestling fans are gearing up to witness WWE Royal Rumble 2025, which is shaping up to be a star-studded event. The show is set to go down at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana, Indianapolis on February 1. The event, much like every year, will feature the 30-person Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches, with the winner earning an opportunity to headline WrestleMania 41 in a huge World title match.
As of this date, many top-tier WWE superstars have been announced for the Men’s WWE Royal Rumble 2025 match, such as John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Drew McIntyre. Another top name announced for the 30-man over-the-top-rope melee is a man who has an interesting history with the Rumble event. He is none other than The Best in the World, CM Punk.
Can CM Punk win his first Rumble at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event?
CM Punk opened the second episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix to address his monumental win over Seth Rollins. Having defeated his arch-rival, Punk shifted his focus and declared himself for the Men’s Rumble match taking place at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event.
The Best in the World has some interesting connections with the Royal Rumble event. It was the 2014 Men’s Rumble match, which was his final match in WWE before he walked out of the company. Following his return to the company after ten years at the 2023 WWE Survivor Series PLE, Punk’s first televised match back was the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, in the same match, he tore his triceps at the hands of Drew McIntyre and was left out of WrestleMania XL.
However, Punk has had a remarkable run since returning last summer. His storied feud with Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins has put him at the top of the RAW mountain and garnered immense support from the fans. Moreover, recent reports hinted that WWE plans to insert CM Punk in a World title match at WrestleMania 41.
All this could possibly mean that CM Punk would finally win his first-ever men’s rumble match at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 show. However, there has been a lot of support for Punk’s iconic rival, John Cena, to win the match and go to WrestleMania to chase his 17th World Title.
With the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event approaching fast, it will be interesting to see if CM Punk would be able to accomplish one of his goals and finally earn the right to main event WrestleMania.
