The debut episode of WWE RAW on Netflix saw the clash of two of the top names from the illustrious Anoa’i family, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. The two Samoans clashed in the highly physical Tribal Combat match. But in the end, it was Roman Reigns who took back what he rightfully earned from his family years ago.
Tensions had been running high between the two ever since Solo Sikoa forcefully took the moniker of the Tribal Chief from Roman Reigns following his defeat at WrestleMania XL. Sikoa formed his own dangerous Bloodline while he and Reigns battled back and forth with their respective factions. However, on RAW on Netflix, Reigns and Solo clashed in one of the most intense in-ring showdowns with the right to call themselves ‘Tribal Chief’ and claim the sacred Ula-Fala.
Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa collided in a Tribal Combat at WWE RAW on Netflix debut show
The match began at the sight of RAW on Netflix debut at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. Both Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa had a heated staredown, realising the importance of the match and their own futures in the WWE. Reigns walked to the ring with his Wiseman, Paul Heyman, while Solo chose to go it alone, leaving behind his Bloodline. As soon as the bell rang, both men launched hard punches on each other as the action kicked off in the Tribal Combat.
Both Reigns and Solo brought every move in their heavy artilleries to the squared circle to gain supremacy over the other. The match was a classic display of two Samoans representing their heritage with their in-ring acumen under a high-stakes situation. Adding to that was the Tribal Combat stipulation, which meant that there were no rules in the match.
Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns made good on the stipulation, using the entire ringside and foreign weapons such as steel chairs, kendo sticks and tables to their advantage. The action spilled all over the ringside as the clash between Reigns and Sikoa tore down the house, which captivated the LA audience in attendance like no other.
Towards the conclusion of the high-stakes showdown, as Reigns put Solo through a table and was about to get the three count, Tama Tonga appeared and pulled the referee out. Just then, Jacob Fatu came to the ring and took down Roman Reigns with a beatdown. But despite that, Reigns stayed in the match, avoiding a near fall. In a moment of rage, Solo Sikoa took out referee Chad Paton with a Samoan Spike. At that very moment, backup arrived for The OTC as Sami Zayn and Jimmy Uso to even the odds. But this time, it was Solo Sikoa who nearly avoided a three-count as a new referee arrived at the scene.
As Roman Reigns looked to take down Solo Sikoa, Reigns’ old rival, Kevin Owens, appeared unexpectedly to take him out. But it was the arrival of Cody Rhodes that neutralized the threat of KO. As the chaos began to settle, Roman Reigns delivered two thunderous spears to Solo Sikoa and sealed the victory to win the Tribal Combat and call himself the Only Tribal Chief.
However, as Paul Heyman was beginning to put the Ula-Fala on Roman Reigns, The Rock came back to the ring after opening the show. He took the Ula-Fala and placed it around Roman Reigns’ neck, acknowledging him as the Tribal Chief with a handshake.
