Randy Orton is regarded as one of the most reputed and influential WWE Superstars ever. The Apex Predator has been in the business for more than two decades and has established himself as one of the greatest ever to do it.
Randy Orton is a 13-time WWE World Champion and is a sure-shot future WWE Hall of Famer. The Viper made his huge return in the Men’s Wargames match of last year’s Survivor Series Premium Live Event. As we are just three months away from 2025, let us see the potential dream matches for The Viper in 2023:
1. The Collision with Cody Rhodes
The new Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton has a lot of history together, both as friends and rivals. The duo was part of a stable dating back to 2008 called “The Legacy” alongside Ted DiBiase JR. They dominated the scene for years before it exploded and faced each other in a triple threat at WrestleMania 26 with Orton emerging victorious.
Both Randy and Cody have come so far since The Legacy days. Orton was able to be a mainstay on WWE programming while Cody stepped away to join AEW, reinvented himself, and came back as the main event player of this generation. So, a match between both will be an instant classic and should take place on a big stage in 2025.
2. The Viper meets The Visionary again
Seth Rollins is one of the most talented and captivating WWE superstars of all time, known to deliver exceptional performances, most recently seen in his back-to-back matches on both nights of WrestleMania 40 despite his injury. The first-ever WWE World Heavyweight Champion had surgery following that, and he is now taking his well-deserved time off to heal his injuries.
Furthermore, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins delivered an unforgettable match at WrestleMania 31 with one of the most memorable finishing sequences to conclude a one-on-one showdown. Both The Viper and The Visionary are two different people now, so it would be a fresh matchup that will blow the roof off once they battle against each other once again.
3. The Original Tribal Chief and The Viper come to blows
Randy Orton has been eying The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns ever since he returned from his injury at the WWE Survivor Series last year. As per reports, Orton was supposed to face Roman Reigns at a major WWE PLE after his return in a singles match but it did not happen. Instead, they both faced each other in a fatal four-way match at Royal Rumble also involving LA Knight and AJ Styles.
The Original Tribal Chief made his huge comeback to the WWE at WWE SummerSlam 2024 this last week and has opened the possibilities of dream matches for The Head of the Table. Though Roman Reigns is busy dealing with his family and Bloodline issues, a match with a veteran like Randy Orton cannot be ruled out for a big event in 2025.
4. Randy Orton joins ‘The Retirement Tour’
The person who is heavily expected to be John Cena’s opponent at The Showcase of Immortals next year is The Viper, Randy Orton. The Apex Predator is the betting odds favorite to face the 16-time WWE World Champion in the final WrestleMania match of his career.
Randy Orton and John Cena are among the most decorated rivalries of the last two decades. The two have battled each other numerous times, putting on instant classics. Behind the curtains, these two veterans are best friends and share a mutual respect. A match pitting two all-time greats, two best friends, and a former nemesis will undoubtedly be the perfect choice for one of Cena’s final matches in his retirement tour.
