The Rock opened Monday Night RAW on Netflix’s debut show on January 6 inside the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. After his segment, his cousins, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, collided against each other in the Tribal Combat. The match saw Reigns emerge victorious over Sikoa and earn the right to call himself ‘The One and Only Tribal Chief’ of WWE.
Following the match, The Rock returned to ringside and presented Roman Reigns with the ‘Ula-Fala’ and acknowledged Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief. The duo had an intense staredown, which became an iconic moment at the start of the WWE Netflix era, beginning the conversation of a potential dream match between the two biggest names in the company.
According to a report by Dave Meltzer, The Rock vs. Roman Reigns could take place in the new era. Following the scrapping of The Rock’s plans to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, the idea of The Final Boss battling The Tribal Chief is still on their minds. Moreover, Meltzer noted that it could take place either at WrestleMania 41 or even in Saudi Arabia later this year.
