WWE has secured one of the biggest deals in the company’s history as RAW is all set to make its grand debut on Netflix on January 6, 2025, as per the WWE Netflix deal. With all the top stars set to perform at the event, WWE fans are wondering if the WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be a part of the show on January 6th.
The Ring General is among the top stars in the company so it makes sense to book him for the highly anticipated debut of RAW on Netflix. Let us see four potential superstars who can face The Ring General in the event:
1. Carmelo Hayes
A former NXT Champion and NXT North American Champion in his own right, Carmelo Hayes debuted on the main roster with so much hype during WWE Draft 2024. However, that success has yet to be translated into the main roster.
Carmelo Hayes needs one opportunity on the main roster through which he can show what he can do in the ring to the WWE Universe, and a match against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion could be just that. Gunther and Carmelo Hayes had a confrontation on SmackDown a few weeks ago, which made many fans believe that Hayes might face The Ring General at RAW’s debut episode on Netflix as per the WWE Netflix deal.
2. Damian Priest
Damian Priest and Gunther have to be each other’s wrestling soulmates, as every time the duo shares the ring, they create magic. As per the WWE Netflix deal, WWE RAW’s debut on the platform warrants some blockbuster matches, and a battle between Priest and Gunther could be an excellent addition to the event’s card.
Damian Priest battled Gunther and Finn Balor for the World Title at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Gutnher retained his title by pinning Finn Balor. The Archer of Infamy could challenge The Ring General at WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix to rise once again as ‘El Campeon.’
3. John Cena
John Cena is set to begin his retirement tour in 2025, and his first stop is expected to be WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix. The former 16-time WWE World Champion could shock the WWE Universe at the event by challenging Gunther for the World Title to chase his 17th championship victory on RAW’s debut episode at Netflix as per the WWE Netflix deal.
Gunther has no challenger yet to defend his title against at WWE RAW’s debut episode on Netflix. The Ring General could hold an open challenge during the event, and a returning John Cena could answer it to have one of the most highly anticipated matches in the modern era.
4. Jey Uso
Jey Uso has become a legitimate main-event superstar with his unparalleled charisma that appeals to the entire WWE Universe worldwide. One of the biggest merchandise sellers of this year, Jey Uso is on the cusp of winning a world title, and it could happen as soon as WWE RAW debuts on Netflix as per the WWE Netflix deal.
