The road to WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 has taken a drastic turn with the re-emergence of The Final Boss of WWE, The Rock. The fans had lost all hope of seeing The Great One on the road to WrestleMania 41 after reports emerged that he would not be competing at The Show of Shows this year.

However, The Rock pulled a major shocker and dropped the news of his return on the February 21st, 2025, edition of Friday Night SmackDown. He brought a gift for the city of New Orleans and then went down straight to business with the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. Following the events of the show, all eyes are now on the choice Rhodes has to make at the WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 event.
Is Cody Rhodes enticed to sell his soul to The Rock at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025?
The Rock made a shocking announcement one day before the February 21st edition of WWE SmackDown that he will appear at the show. The Final Boss came to New Orleans, first to announce that WrestleMania 42 will take place in the city next year at the Superdome on April 11 and 12, 2026. After thrilling the audience with the announcement, his next agenda of business was to have a one-on-one talk with Cody Rhodes.
As The American Nightmare came down to the ring, The Rock revealed to the audience that the duo were not close associates following their rivalry at WrestleMania 40 coming to an end. He applauded Cody Rhodes for his spectacular reign as the Undisputed WWE Champion and for standing up for himself, citing the fans’ support that erupted for him last year in favor of the dream match between The Rock and Roman Reigns.
Witnessing the rise of Cody Rhodes as the face of WWE, The Rock, who is also a TKO Board member, offered Rhodes to become ‘his Champion.’ While Cody initially declined, The Rock enticed him by claiming that he could reach the same level of stardom as himself if he accepted the offer. Before exiting the ring, The Rock told Cody Rhodes to meet him at the WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 event and give his answer to the offer.
The Rock left the scene as The Prodigal Son was left in shock. However, at the WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 event, there is a huge possibility that Rhodes might have decided to ‘sell his soul’ to The Rock. As per multiple reports, John Cena is expected to win the Men’s Elimination Chamber and challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship. To make it a more intriguing story between the past and present face of WWE, the regime might have planned to turn Cody Rhodes’ heel against the babyface Cena.

Adding The Rock to the mix has been an excellent idea from a creative standpoint. It could be a mirror to the highly memorable scene of WrestleMania 17 when Stone Cold Steve Austin sided with his longtime rival and boss, Vince McMahon, and became the corporate WWE Champion. The same thing happened with The Rock in 1998 when he aligned with Vince after winning his first WWE title.
With the WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 only weeks away, it appears that the fan base are in for a huge surprise of seeing Cody Rhodes choose power over dignity and add another interesting layer in the storyline on the road to WrestleMania 41.
