WWE brought Friday Night SmackDown from the Golder 1 Center in Sacramento, California this week. The show was set to feature several huge matches including a US Title match between LA Knight and Andrade. On the other hand, WWE Universe saw both Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes coming face-to-face in a cinematic fashion.
While coming face-to-face at Georgia Tech’s Field in Atlanta, The Original Tribal Chief made his way to the field in a convoy of cars, on the other hand, Cody Rhodes pulled up in a sleek sports car. While standing on the field, Roman reminisced about his time playing football on the same field and claimed it as his territory, and then asked Rhodes what he had done for Atlanta to which the champ highlighted his family’s history and their legacy at the State Farm Arena.
After talking about history, both superstars shifted the focus to their tag team match at WWE Bad Blood, where Reigns reminded Rhodes of the dominance of The new Bloodline, and Cody asked Roman to watch his back during the match. After this, Roman Reigns made it clear that once everything was settled, he would be coming after the Undisputed WWE Title.
The segment eventually ended with both superstars trying to walk away, only to repeatedly block one other’s path. Reigns would cryptically end up telling Rhodes. ‘You’re in the way of my life’, before walking off. Meanwhile, in the main event of the show, Rhodes came to the aid of Kevin Owens to protect him from The Bloodline. It would be certainly interesting how all of these angles will impact Cody’s title run in the future.
