Cody Rhodes’ Illustrious WWE Resume Still Has 3 Major Accolades Missing

cody rhodes

Cody Rhodes made history on April 7th, 2024 when he defeated The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and fulfilled his lifelong dream of winning a WWE Championship and complete his highly publicized narrative of ‘Finish The Story.’

Cody Rhodes victory truly marked the end of a historic title run that lasted for well over four years and signaled the beginning of a new era in the world of WWE. But despite his spectacular win and numerous accolades under his belt, there are a few milestones that The Prodigal Son has to achieve to make his already illustrious career even more prestigious.

Let us talk about 3 major accolades that are missing from Cody Rhodes’ resume:

1. Cody Rhodes needs to win the United States Championship title to get on a very coveted list of superstars

Cody Rhodes is laser-focused on becoming the greatest Undisputed WWE Champion possible and aims to surpass the prestige of Roman Reigns’s title run. However, one title that Cody Rhodes has not won yet, and winning that title will add two prestigious accolades to his resume is the WWE United States Championship. Should The American Nightmare clinch the star-spangled prize, he would earn the prestige of becoming a Grand Slam Champion and will join an elite list of WWE superstars.

Now, Cody Rhodes is set to go one-on-one with the current WWE United States Champion, The Internet Sensation, Logan Paul. While the bout would not be a title vs title match at WWE King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event will not be for the title after this week’s SmackDown event, Cody Rhodes can always have a future opportunity to capture the missing accolade.

2. All Rhodes lead to the World Heavyweight title in the future

Cody Rhodes clinched the Undisputed WWE Championship at the expense of Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 in one of the greatest WrestleMania main event matches of all time. Even though The Prodigal Son “Finished his Story”, there’s a lot more for him to achieve in the global juggernaut.

Despite being the current Undisputed WWE Champion, there is one more World title that Cody Rhodes can win in the future i.e. the WWE World Heavyweight Championship which is currently under the possession of The Judgment Day member, Damian Priest. Following the end of his current run in the future, Rhodes can switch sides back to RAW and begin a new quest to capture the World Heavyweight title and add another important achievement to his career.

3. Money in the Bank Winner

With multiple accolades under his name already, one major accolade that appears to be in Cody Rhodes’ destiny is a Money in the Bank ladder match victory, that has been vital to the career of many WWE superstars in the past.

Moreover, at one point in his illustrious career in 2013, Rhodes would have become the Money in the Bank winner, but at the last minute, WWE chose to go with his then-teammate, Damian Sandow. The Money in the Bank briefcase has alluded to The American Nightmare’s career so far. Therefore, it would be interesting to see if he will ever capture the prestigious briefcase, now that he is on the path to becoming, possibly the next face of the company.
