Although the WWE Women’s Division has seen its fair share of struggles, it has come leaps and bounds. Gone are the days when women were treated as eye candies on WWE Television Programming. The Division has come on par with the Men’s division and has been a highlight for the company, and women in the company have become legitimate main-event superstars.

There were times when WWE did not even have any women’s division, and there were no titles for women to compete for, but now things have changed for the better, and women in the business have taken over like never before. WWE Universe has seen so many positive developments in the women’s division in the past which has brought the division to all-new heights, and one such groundbreaking development was done on this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

Brand New Championship Unveiled For WWE Women’s Division

The foundations of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) rocked when SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis made a monumental and groundbreaking announcement on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown when he revealed a brand new WWE Women’s United States Championship, a mid-card championship for the WWE Women’s Division.

WWE fans were pretty vocal and demanded a secondary championship for the WWE Women’s Division for several years. Several talented women on the roster were not getting enough opportunities to showcase their talent if they were not involved in the main title picture. But now with the arrival of a mid-card title, all those women hopefully will get their moments to shine.
